CYC Workday Chore List
Wear your old clothes! If possible, bring tools needed for the jobs. If you have special skills that you can apply to any of these jobs or you would like to volunteer on any particular job you may call me in advance or let us know when you arrive.
**If you have a large dump truck we can use to haul off trash, please call me!**
Cleaning Projects – (We need people willing to work on the cleaning crews) Detailed cleaning and scrubbing of the X-Building, Holder Dorm and Dining Hall/Kitchen
Yard Work – (We need people willing to work on the yard crew. Bring your rakes and wheelbarrows and yard tools)
Rake around Dining Hall & Rec Room and other areas needed and pick up limbs
Pick up debris & trash around campus including around the edges of the woods and down drive
Clean out grass overgrowth inside pool and in area where Basketball goals set
Look for signs of and spray for wasps around all building and gazebos
Pressure Washing – (We need a few people who can bring pressure washers. Call me if you can)
Pressure clean outside of Rec Room, the small pump house and other buildings if needed
Pressure clean outside of windows on all buildings
Putt Putt – Repair or recover carpet grass on Putt Putt coarse. Cut the hole bigger on Hole # 18. Clean rocks out of cups and Hole # 18
Sun Shields – Take down old camo net at the horse barn and in the pool and replace with shade screen.
Building Repair – Cover the back of the storage building and the pump house beside the volleyball court with metal.
Replace the door of the pump house
Build a metal covered gate to close off alley between storage building and nurse’s station
Clean out pump house and spray for wasps inside
Replace missing gazebo pickets
Horse Barn –
Clean out stalls and storage rooms and prepare equipment for use
Put a load of sand in walk way inside horse barn
Rec Room – Dust cobwebs, clean off game tables, detail sweep
Repair Rollerball game and Basket Ball game
Take out old piano and replace with piano in storage room (We need some strong men!)
Plumbing - (Check out plumbing in all buildings)
Insulate pipes in nurse’s quarters and overhead in Kitchen if needed
Replace or Fix leaking faucets on kitchen sinks
Check out all faucets on sinks and showers and pipes under sinks for leaks or necessary repairs
Check all drains for clogs or slow running drains
Check out all commodes for proper functioning and needed repairs
Electical – Install 6 lights (3 on each side) over the stalls in the horse barn
Run electrical wires to volleyball light pole and install volleyball lights (if pole is up)
Check all lights inside and out. Replace bulbs or fixture as needed
Check volleyball and basketball lights
Cabin 16 small bathroom vent is not working
Check out rattling noisy vent in Holder Dorm bathrooms (Cabins 1, 5, 6)
Put a metal plate cover over receptacle in kitchen
Sheetrock – If you do sheetrock work and can come, call me and let me know what materials I need to have available)
Repair holes in Holder Dorm bathroom stalls (Cabin 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
Repair hole behind room door in Cabin 1
Patch holes where soap dispensers and toilet paper holders were taken down
INSIDE MAINTENANCE
Clean or replace AC filters in all buildings
Test all smoke alarm batteries and replace if needed
Kitchen/Dining Hall
Take down vent hood in Kitchen
Cover or repair in some way sides of sink cabinet in Dining Hall bathroom area
Holder Dorm
Replace sections of baseboards in Holder Dorm with termite damage (Cabin 2 & 6)
Take down old toilet paper holders in Holder Dorm bathroom stalls
Take down soap dispensers in Holder Dorm
X Building
Cover fan over front windows in Great Room (and paint)
Take out old fireplace insert (make sure damper is closed)
Lower shower curtain holders so the curtains hang lower
Adjust back door in Cabin 12 so it stays closed without having to slam it so hard
Take down shower room doors in X Building and replace with shower curtain rods
Replace Cabin Room doors with holes or repair them (paint new doors)
Painting - (let me know in advance if you can come and paint so I can have the paint on hand. Bring any painting tools you can)
Sand and paint metal desk in kitchen
Paint replaced baseboards in X Building & Holder Dorm
Paint X Building Great Room Walls & trim (remove all nails and hooks)
Paint new Cabin doors (if replaced) in X Building
Spot paint areas on walls, doors and trim in Cabin 10 & 12 where there is writing on the wall
Paint vent boards in bathroom stalls in X Building
If enough painters report they are coming:
Paint walls and trim in cabin 14 & 16
Window Cleaning – (Main focus on X Building. They are in desperate need!)) (Could use a pressure washers for outside and storm windows. We need some men on this job)
Get stuck windows in X Building open and clean inside and outside and storm windows
Clean Dining Hall windows
Clean Holder Dorm windows
We have a lot of work to do and need a lot of people to do it, come join us in the Lord’s work!
